I recently had a number of assignments in Civil Court, Queens County in a couple of the consumer credit parts. Several needed to be adjourned for various reasons. Two of these adjournments stood out because they were routine. One was to allow a pro se defendant to consult an attorney. Those two adjournments were for just about one year. In my appearance reports, when providing the adjourned dates, I felt compelled to say that the date was not in error. It was about one year.
